Grey goose vodka
Crafted from French wheat and diluted with French water from the cognac region of france, this is a super premium grade vodka.
Vodka is typically column distilled to a maximum alcohol level of roughly 95%. It is distilled to a point that it becomes almost completely neutral, the repeated distilling removes congeners. Congeners are the flavorful substances that give character to distilled spirits. It is even said that congeners can be responsible for hangovers.
After the highly potent alcohol is collected, it is then filtered and diluted down to a specific alcohol level.
So, there you go. Vodka. Made to be completely flavourless, covered over and hidden by blending with other spirits, juices, sodas, etc. adding ice stunts whatever flavor is left, ultimately. For people who want the drunk, but not the drink.
Honestly, to a whisky drinker, this is as about as exciting as watching old people screw.
tall, sleek, frosted wine bottle. There is a clear label of a giant goose and a decal of geese flying over some mountains in the background. Instantly recognizable.
Nosing well above the glass shows a little vanilla. Very little citrus soda. Nosing very close to the glass reveals the acetone and isopropyl, though it is very mild. Vodka, by law, is supposed to be completely void of any smell or flavor, so its character is expected.
There is hardly any profile. A little vanilla and even a bit of shortbread cookie, but its faint and fleeting once tasted. Possibly a suggestion of mint leaf and a touch of black pepper. The taste of spirit is apparent, but not offensive. although this is very thin and watery, it is also very mellow and smooth. If this wasn’t so boring, I would recommend this as a sipper. The finish is smooth and fast.
Its good product, but its expensive.
